You're almost in the same situation that I'm in. I have an 05 vp and hate... HATE how slow it is. I've thought about doing work to it, but then I figure with the amount of money it would cost to make my car fast, I could just save it and pay a down payment and rollover on a new car. I love the look of my vp coupe and wish it had any other motor in it.. but it doesn't. If dropping a k20 in it helped resale I would do it in a heartbeat. But it doesn't.
We're screwed on the go-fast catagory. Just brag about your 38 mpg and call it a day.

Keep in mind, nitrous might not be the best option.
It can be real unstable. And depending where you live it might be illegal...not sure about anywhere else but around here i hear its illegal.
Your engine has to be set up right to handle nitrous.
As others mentioned, maybe you should trade up...with some saved up cash and a trade, you could get a used Evo or WRX without much hassell if you really tried.

Wait a min, how fast do you guys need to go lol?
I havnt hit top speed on mine yet but ive pushed it past 100 a couple times on the highway at night when there werent any cars around and it was still gaining speed good...and mine is bone stock.
100 to me is passed my safety zone...lol.
