Rep Power: 233 spark plug cover idea finished (pics)
well as you all know the civics came with a plain spark plug cover and i got tired of it. i really like those b16 and k20 with nice and shinny covers. i wannted to buy one but no one sold one. so i decide to make one. so i decided to take mine off and try to make it nice and shinny. so i shaved the honda word off and put bondo on it. and wrap it in some black metallic vinly. and wanted to put the mugen sticker on it just to look like those nice mugen valve covers. what do you guys think of the idea. comments , ideas, are welcome. (remember not done yet and i just wanted to try sumthin new).

Rep Power: 0 Doesnt sound like a bad idea but you can paint the cover and then clear it to get the same effect and it will look alot better I imagine or you could go for a CF one if you wanted.
I dont know about putting the Mugen sticker on it though, it would give ppl the impression that you have motor work or parts made by Mugen and well as far as I know there is next to nothing if anything for our cars by them.
Good Luck and post pics when your done.

Sounds cool, maybe not Mugen though. Like crashoverride said it will give the impression of work done to the motor.
But it is your choice, you drive it, do what you want!! Good luck

Rep Power: 296 eh, not really crazy about the vinyl, i would just take it to someone and have them professionally spray and clear it, would look alot nice and not look ghetto. As far as the Mugen, i wouldn't bother, your not gonna fool many people and people who know there stuff will call you out on it or else just laugh. I have the CF one from DG Motorsports.

Rep Power: 0 Did you use high temperature paint? Dunno how big of an issue this would be. Even though it's a civic, I'm pretty sure it still gets hot under the hood. Anyways, it's looking good ! Let us know how this works out.

Rep Power: 233 ok heres the update. i didnt use higg temp paint, but it didnt run off maybe cuz of the clear coat. but i do see small bubble because b4 i put it in the engine i put it in the hot sun light and bubble appeared. and also cuz of the bondo. it looks out of place cuz its the only shinny thing. maybe ill have to shine the fuse cover and the coils? ill post pics of it installed maybe tomorrow

The paint shouldnt melt off!!! I gets hot, but its plastic. Did mine like 6 months ago no melting yet. Dont even get that hot!!!
Why did you bondo? Could of sanded it and primed, sanded and then painted!! You will probably have problems IF the heat is an issue, still not sure on that one yet!!

Rep Power: 257 use finer grit sandpaper.....just the rough stuff to get rid of the letters....or get the carbon fiber one and have a colored candy coat and a couple coats of clear sprayed on it
