Here's a quick question for the car gods. I don't know much about pre 95 cars. This guy keeps talking about his 92 Miata. I know its manual but thats about it. My question is how fast are those cars. He keeps asking to race and i wont do it on the street but if i head up to the track before the summers over I need an idea of what those run. Thanks everyone.

1. Cat Back Exhaust
2. AEM SRI
3. 4-1 Headers
4. 17" wheels with some good tires.

my dad has one, its supposed to have around 160hp, not that much more than a civic, but those cars are very light weight so it feels quite a bit faster. i was gonna say you might have a chance then i saw your rims. given equal drivers, the mazda should win.

they are fun cars but pretty slow, i used to have the 1.8 .. the 92 should be a 1.6

good handling cars though 2200lbs 50/50 weight distribution, front engine rear wheel drive :-p

id say it would have to depend more on the driver and how well you know your car.

my friend has a 93 miata and its slow as ****...but its a dohc so he has slightly more torque and it'll pull at the end...on the freeway tho for some odd reason he doesnt do very well

You should win but it all depends on the driver. I think miata is only about 120 hp, around early 90's, maybe less.

bout all im gonna do soon is finish off the exhaust system. downpipe and test pipe and possibly a revo short shifer or a fidanza short shifter kit soon. maybe i'll take my rims off a week or two early since winter will be here before we know it and then do it.
