Aftermarket Steering Wheels?

Thinking of swapping to a momo wheel on my 02 coupe... would the airbag light come on, since the airbag connector will not be connected? and the cruise will have to be disabled right? unless i do that diy on relocating the cruise? anyone? im more concerned about the airbag?

well...my SRS light came on when i did my seatbelt swap, but other than that, i unplugged the battery for at least 1 hour or more, then i unpluggedd ALL srs related fuses. then 1 hour later i took out the cruise control 1st, but remember to go to sears or local parts store and get the spline/hex head tool to remove the steering wheel. i have not crusie, btw...

So a harness will save your life in case you crash? If you hit a truck that was coming your way, will the harness form a web to save you from the disastrous?

Didn't think so.

seatbelts are much more important than a airbag... seatbelts have teansonier in them and will stop u from going further and hitting ur head on the wheel.. the airbag is there to cushion anything.. it wont save ur life if u dont have ur belts on

so other than disconnecting the srs wire from the cluster, there is no way of getting rid of that light right?

what do you mean put in a harness? with aftermarket wheels, you have to leave that airbag connector disconnected.. right?

being on the bright side.. driving with a aftermarket wheel is hella lot safer! with factory steering wheel, yes the airbag will prevent you from hitting ur head to the wheel by cushioning your head...

but if you want the look and feel of a smaller wheel, you can just swap that sucker out.. and drive around in a helmet on your head... voila! done.. problem solved... you can do head-ons without serious injury to your head, and yet have a aftermarket wheel! =D

oh forgot to mention that many die from suffocating from the airbags.. tsk tsk tsk.. =D
