Someone Keyed My Whole Car, Help!
Someone Keyed My Whole Car, Help!
I have a silver 2001 honda civic coupe ex. It WAS a nice ride until some ***** keyed my whole car.
My question is. with the car having 65000 miles on it, no body damage, a carbon fiber hood that has faded, a cracked and severally damaged front buddy club 2 bumper and key marks that go all the way around the car, IS IT WORTH IT TO PUT 1500-2000 DOLLARS in to the car and fix it and keep it? or is it better to put a 500 paint job into it and sell it immediatly?
the picture below is of my car before the hood faded and before the car got keyed
My plans before this happened was to keep the car for another 4 years but what do you guys recommend, PLEASE ADVISE ME ON WHAT TO DO.
ps. i only had liability insurance 2 weeks ago when it happened

My votes to fix it all, and take off the windshield banner. I think it looks good.
Most insurance companys will just snap a couple of photos of the exterior and thats it. if you switch over to full coverage with your current insurance company they might not even look at your car if they have the original snapshots of your vehicle.

Why sell it because paint issues?
Because to fix this car right it will cost around 2000-2500. Is it worth it to put that kind of money into a stupid honda civic? REMEMMBER, its a civic, not a lambo you retard. The car is 5 years old, it is not worth over 8k

I say if you are happy with the car then keep it.
If you think the car is already too old and that you may soon grow out of it, get the cheap paint job and sell it.
I think you just need to ask yourself whether or not you think it's worth it. I don't think anyone on this forum will be able to give you a definite YES or NO. Are you emotionally attached to it? Is it good for you because it saves on gas? Do you like the kind of attention you get from it? Is it fast enough for you? Are there any mechanical problems you'd rather not deal with in the future?
If you do end up getting a new car, the new Civic SI looks nice.
Hope this helps.

2. I'm still able to correct my spelling errors.
3. I know how to use caps lock PROPERLY.
4. I said chose/given, not everyone goes out and buys a new car.
fifthly, once again STFU noob.
6. if you want to fix the car it's worth it. if you go to one of those quick paint places, who paints over the existing paint, you get what you pay for bro.
7. once again, STFU noob. like the car is worth only 8,000, you get what someone is willing to give you for it, not a flat rate or KBB rates.
8. did I mention I'm drunk?
9. that is all, but I'll still say get the car done up right again and keep it, shouldn't be disappointed in it if you keep up proper maintenance.
thanks armieo for the mature answer.
Truth is, I only have 1 reason I wanted to keep the car and that is that financially, I think its the best move for me, the car gets amazing gas, has 65000 miles on it so its fairly young for a honda, but in another aspect its 5 years in age. I wanted to keep it because for the next 4 years, I did NOT want car payments and its paid off. Mainly that is the reason I wanted to keep it. Is that a good enough reason to spend 2200-2500 to fix it?
I been thinking about it today. If I fix it and sell it. I cant get anything better for the money and if i do get something better, I will have payments and I dont want that
Thank you so much for your drunken opion. I guess out of all that you said, Your recommendation is to dump 2k in it and fix it since it will be stuck with me for the next 4 years, correct? lol

I say fix it when your car's paint goes through a little more crap like chips and stuff. Maybe then you can change your whole colorscheme if you're feeling adventurous!
I wouldn't paint it for a while because if the guy who keyed your car is following you, he could be a total jerk and re-key it after you get it repainted. Maybe wait a little while for whoever it is to simmer down.
Me personally... I'm going to drive my civic to the ground before I ever decide to part with it.

Oh and it sounds like you don't even want to spend the 2K to fix you car, but you started a thread asking if you should and when people tell you to fix the car you get angry at them and tell them its not worth it. A civic with a body mods is somewhat like a lambo (well not really). Your car still requires maintenance even though it is a civic. That is why you have a faded carbon fiber hood and a craked up body kit. Like a previous post said sell your car if you don't want it.

If your car is out in the sun everyday...there isn't too much short of covering it, that you can do to prevent sun bleaching/fading....unless you go crazy with waxes/sealents/and protectants.....but we all get lazy spells....

but nah that sucks... but i know how it feels.
