i ran stock rotors for like 6k miles on my 17's. then jsut got tired of the look and went to drileld and slotted but stock size. your be fine. anything over 18 you want to get a better brake kit.
used to have 19s stock brake setup except rear disc breaks, didn't notice much of a change.
now i have 18s, didn't notice anything.
i guess it depends on your pads, and rotor condition. i haven't noticed any drawbacks to running bigger wheels

I have ran on 17" wheels from 2002 to 2005 with a stock braking system and had no problems noticed no change. Then in mid 2005 I went to 18" wheels and to this day have no problems. But here lately I have upgraded my brake system and I know I wouldn't have any problems if I didn't upgrade. But if you put heavy chrome wheels on that would make some kind of difference.

If you do look into a BBK, do your research first. BBK = OEM unless you change other components other than rotors and calipers.
IMO this thread should be move to the wheel and brake section to get boilermakers and Zzyxz, two cents in.

You'll be fine. Considering some 17's / tire setups (mine) are the same size as my stock wheels and tire combo. =)

I thought part of modding was suppose make the car look better, and the point of getting rims was to make the car look nicer?

I don't drive my car hard, and my 17's are already light. All that money on a big brake kit would be useless to me. I'm pretty sure that some of people here have the same reason why they don't change their rotors as well. I don't think small rotors look ugly, its not as nice as a bigger slotted or cross drilled rotor, but they still look decent.
