should i take my side molding off??(how would i do it)
well i just lowered my car this past weekend and i have been told, also thinking about taking off the side molding to make it look cleaner. The molding has been on for about 2 years since i got the car so im hoping that the paint wont come off when i do it. Im probably gonna use goo gone to get all the adhesive off from under it, than wax it up to get the shine back...tell me what you think.
1. should i take it off?
2. will the paint come off?
3. what should i use to take it off and how should i start peeling it off?
4. yes the sohc vtec sticker is gonna be removed

TITFO!
Take It The Fvck Off!
I doubt about it being pegged onto the body. Seems like a lot of things on these 7thgens are held on by glue only... And if it is drilled onto there, that's why God invented Bondo

I wouldn't think there are holes since coupes don't generally come stock with the moldings. They are just held by double stick tape.

yeah coupes dont come with molding, its an option. so its just held up there by tape. get like a putty knife, wrap it in a towel so you dont scratch the paint and pick at the corner til i comes up, then just pull slowly till its off. after that put goo gone on a towel. not directly on the car, and rub that **** off lol
use a heat gun to heat up the plastic molding and the double sided tape. Once it is maliable, flexible, take some fishing line and use it to separate the molding from the car. Go slow and dont burn your paint. Hair Dryer might work as well, just not as fast

DON'T DO IT!!!! That is if your ride is a sedan. The sedans moldings are screwed in. You will be left with holes. I was goign to do the same thing and found out from a Honda Parts Desk that they are clipped in and you will be left with holes.

coupe molding is just taped on, but you're gonna have a mess if you pull them off. assuming you take them off without hurting the paint, you're gonna have some nice racing lines that wont match because of fade.

use some fishing small guage fishing line to scrap them off and then use some goo gone(?) to remove the mess. don't take my word for it, but it should be a clean removal... aside from possible paint fade, but the car is silver which may make it unnoticeable of there is indeed any fade.
