Rep Power: 281 3" Full Turbo Exhaust.. UPDATE POST # 26
This is the progression of my 3" exhaust upgrade for my Dezod turbo kit. I've been working on this for the last 2 Saturdays. Hopefully next weekend will be the last of it so I can finally put it on. These are some comparison to the stock exhaust. Its no where complete as far as welding/cleaning/painting goes. These pics are of work in progress. I will post final pics and video comparisons (stock vs 3"). Please note that the "stock exhaust" is catless and a straight through muffler was added. the 3 inch will also be catless and also no resonator (still debating). Enjoy.
Edit: if your wondering why my stock exhaust is bent up so bad, I ran over a dog that was bigger than a tiny horse, lol.

Rep Power: 0 wow... i didnt know our stock exhaust pipes were THAT thin... the stock piping int he 2nd picture looks like a garden hose next to your 3" piping sheesh O_O... aaand is that gona fit underneath the car without dragging on the floor? haha have you checked the clearance on that thing? or are you just making it hoping it'd fit?

Rep Power: 281 thanks for the comments guys, i'm definataly a DIYer lol. I'm trying to minimize clearance to the bottom of the car. Right now its about 1/2-3/4". With the car lowered as much as it is now (at least 2.5" all around) it may rub going over speedbumps and what not. If so I'll just compensate by raising the car.

Rep Power: 278 welds could be abit better but over not too bad, i think you may have some fitment problems by looking at the last pic on the right. it appears that the new exhaust doesnt follow the same line as the old. maybe just the pic though.

Rep Power: 281 yeah the welds could be better but what can i expect from a walmart wire feeder and paper thin exhaust. the rear axel is causing trouble with getting around it.. hopefully this weekend I can sort it out and get it done.

Rep Power: 278 i think your subframe cross over part might be a little wide as well. that is shown in the pic all the way to the right. like i said it may be the pic itself but to me it looks a little wider than the stock pipe. this is a huge issue on all aftermarket exhausts on our cars. i had to modify my cat pipe as not to touch the greddy piping so it wouldnt hit the subframe where it crosses from the inside to the outside of the subframe. i would test fit it before your final assembly and install. but over all it looks good

Rep Power: 281 all fitting is done on the car.. the piping is mocked up in place and spot tacked. then i take it down and weld if the final fit is good. It clears the cross over width wise, the only issue there would be height clearance, which I minimized as best as I could. If needed I will add round bar stiffeners to minimize movement. I get a headache just thinking of that axel lol I wish it would just pass straight through. I will take pics of it on the car next weekend. stay tuned.

Rep Power: 278 awesome man as far as height and having the exhaust not hit the undercarriage or subframe you may want to just run some longer hangers. you actually need quite a bit of clearance going across the subframe. but you will scrape the lower it hangs. its kind of a bitch just like the whole axel issue your having

Rep Power: 281 yeah i hear what your saying. i'll i can do is try to split the difference. I dont want it to drag the ground but i dont want it to rub the underneath the car either. i guess we will see what happens.
edit: what about grinding/cutting out that particular part, where it crosses over? there doesn't seem to be much strength there anyway? just a thought.

Rep Power: 278 well its the actual subframe that your crossing over. the only way i would ever cut subframe is if it was completely gusseted with thicker metal. but it would be a biatch to do especially just for an exhaust. i dont think it would be worth it. you may effect the structural rigidity of the subframe.

Rep Power: 281 More updates!!! Its on the car and its loud lol!
Yeah so i finished off the over axle part, its actually hitting the rear swaybar a bit so I just gotta readjust the hanger. anywho.. i started it up and its uh very throaty lol.. Its not too bad though, its still in the air so ima drop it down tomorrow and go for a drive. more than likely im going to throw a resonator and muffler on it to quiet it down.. here's some more pics..
everything is welded now (not the prettiest I know but im not too worried about that).

Rep Power: 281 It's done finally!! put the hangers on and all. i made a video (see link down below) you can hear the exhaust rattling on the rear sway bar ,dont worry i fixed that shortly after, just didnt feel like reshooting the vid. I'm tired. I also took some pics of it on the car and the car off the stand on the ground. Check out that clearance lol!! I am going to put a resonator/muffler combo on this badboy its just too loud, but nice. I took it for a spin, revs faster, turbo comes on quicker. no where near as much lag as before. thats all for no. enjoy, comments welcome.
