Last night while sitting at a light my civic was hit by a drunk driver. He hit me going approximatley 60mph. The rear is pushed in up to the front seat. I was knocked out and woke up in the hospital. I went and saw my car today and it is gone.

Just wanted to let you all know that the civic can take a beating...

Yeah I'm alright but my car isn't. Projected damage is 14k. Definitley is totalled. I have a neck brace for a month but besides that and a little whiplash I am fine.....


My seatlbelt was on that is why I didn't receive much injury. ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!!!

the car held up great tho..my dad got rear ended by a drunk driver too. he was driving a tahoe and was traveling 40mph but my dads corolla was ****ed up bad

Thanks guys for all the good wishes. I am fine and at home with a neck brace...I have a stock civic ex auto...So pretty much anything could be free game. I still need it to be declared totalled. Do you all think it will be totaled from the look at it? My buddy said since it is a unibody that it will most likely be totalled.


If you all want to pm me asking for stuff I am sure we can work something out...

I am starting to look at a new car and the old 2003-2005 si's look decent. I know it only has 160hp, but would headers exhaust and intake make a difference. Isnt the motor a k20a3? Does this offer much upgrading options?

Hopefully the a3 accepts bolt ons unlike the d17....

Any cars that you all think would be a good acceptable yet fast driver would be great....

find a good lawyer. just glad you made it out. usually hi speed crashes never end well. i got hit by someone going 40 and it was bad but only $8k damage so they fixed it and i just went to hospital once.

Dont get me wrong, the car was great. Just a lot went wrong with it and I want a stick and something decently fast. I am in a car club and I don't want the slowest car like I did with the 7th gen! Im not hating just stating what I want...

good thing you are alive man, that **** is gonna get raped by the legal system. my suggestion for the new car would be the 06 si if you wanna stay with honda, or perhaps an 06 wrx (only about a grand more for a TR, compared to the si), or whatever. im sure you'll be able to afford it after you win the suit lol.

Well I dont know what we will be getting out of this. I know that if the car is totalled I will get 10 grand for it. That 10 grand is mine. If we win the suit I wont see any of that money. My parents will receive it. So now I am looking for a car that is around 14k.

I don't personally care for the newer SI's, w/exception of the '06. You could get a 2000 SI and do an *** ton of stuff to it.
