Rep Power: 0 Carbon Fiber Hood and Hood Pins HELP
Ok, well a friend at a local audio shop has a set of StreetGlow Gold Series white neons that he has ordered for my car and will be putting them on for me.
Also I am getting a ViS Carbon Fiber hood for my SSM Coupe from him. It should be here soon.
Anyways what I need to know is, how hard is it to install and take a hood off? He said it could do it easy...But is it really easy or a tough job? Thanks.

Rep Power: 0 So neons are harder to install than a hood?
Neons will be easy for him because he is like a genius with wires, etc. His audio shop has turned into a shop that does basically everything for cars. He has machine lifts etc. He said he could do the neons.
Basically I believe he knows what he is doing. I just want my hood to be put on correctly, he said that he wants to put hood pins on it too, just the regular ones from AutoZone is this a good/bad idea?

Rep Power: 258 Ya the hood it's just a matter of pulling the washers out and taking out a few bolts. Obviously you will need AT LEAST 2 people, 3 or more would be better. Then you just have to reverse the process. Lining it up will probably be the hardest part. I have no knowlegde on the pins so I can't help you there.

Rep Power: 0 Anyone have knowledge of pins?
First are they hard to put in or should I just use the metal latch?
If they are necessary are the AutoZone hood pins ok?

Rep Power: 0 So a ViS hood isn't safe enough to use without pins?
Would the normal pins that AutoZone sells be good?
Any chance of the hood cracking?

Rep Power: 0 I was... It's going to be further down the line.
Would these hood pins be good with my hood? I think they look a lot better than normal pins. And they lock.

Rep Power: 258 I know you tape over the hood before you drill. That could just be so the drill doesn't slide across the hood though. lol, thats really all I know.

Rep Power: 0 Well I ordered those pins.
The hood is shipped out Monday, and says 2-5 business days. So it should be here next week. Hopefully the pins come soon too. Then I can have that baby installed.

Rep Power: 296 Anywhere, just search, its not that hard. You've asked the same question over and over, just go on google, type in Hood Pins, and buy some. or else search on 7thgen, alot of people have them.
