this is just the start
well, all i need now are a few sprays of clear coat. ill take pics of this stuff on the car tomorrow i hope. i was going to do the ignition coil caps and figured out how but i like driving too much
so im gonna have to dedicate a whole day to staying home and doing all 4 in one day.
its not perfect but hopefully it will be close

im also wondering if the heat will kill this paint job cause its not high temp paint.

You didnt clean them before you sprayed em huh? It also looks like you got a little trigger happy on the valve cover. Remember folks, lots of thin easy layers, not 2 thick coats. Patience is a virtue.

i used black high gloss engine enamel on my parts just to freshen them up and its worked fine. did you do something to them before to get them to look frosted? you may want to prime that over and sand it smooth.

um you need to learn how to paint. and that valve cover gets super hot. i wouldn't be surprised if the paint melts off and flows over your header and then burn some more. i'm not gonna pretend it looks good. lucky for you its easy to get the paint off with alcohol and try again. or just buy that wire cover again its only $5. next time light sand first, then thin coat of primer, more sanding, then a few light coats of hi temp ceramic paint. let dry overnight before installing.

no offense dude... but that looks really shitty. you didn't prep it right and rushed on that paint job. also, that paint is gonna last you about 2 seconds and then melt the f*ck off. imo, you need to sand off that paint and start over.
spell check pwns you

you need to strip it all down like gearbox said, strip it all, then sand it, primer it, sand it more, then paint it, make sure you use long strokes and don't just end at the end of the cover, go about 6 inches off so that you don't creat spots. and use very thin coats. It looks crappy right now i'm sorry, but it does. Just do as people tell ya on here, and it will turn out better, i think if you mask off the vtec part and leave it black would look nice.

ya the key is don't just start spraying and hold the can on one spot. eventually the spray becomes liquid paint if you can believe that.

brake fluid does the same about stripping it.
my prob was after i primered i sprayed a coat and parts of it cracked out like i didn't use enough primer. i sprayed like 3 light coats. yes they were light hahaha. anyway, i put one coat on of SSM and when it dried it looked like the paint dried out and i missed some spots. so i threw down another coat and the same cracks appeared. so you think the primer just didn't hit those spots? i mean idk. this was supposed to be a start like i said. anyway thanx for the advice guys ill use it.
