Civic LX intake owners......
I have been wondering if my intake is sticking out to high from the tb. I looked at the hood close up to see if there was any scratch marks but there was non and when I close the hood I THINK I hear a slight tapping sound.
Here is a picture, I know its far away, its all I have for now, but can any of you guys tell if it IS too high or if its all in my head?
Thanks in advance.

looks about normal, thats one of the big differences from the no name brands and the high quality brands, that tower over your tb prevent you from having any strut bars, except one, the DC sturt bar...

if you're worried, tape something on the tb like a toothpick with a bit of grease on the top. tape it an inch or so above the pipe and then close the hood to see if grease gets on the hood.
or put tape on the top, then white out on the tape, close the hood, start the car, ev, then open the hood to see if there's any white out on the hood, the reason why i say rev is cuz the engine moves and it might hit then, but not at idle
Last time I had this much fun some furniture got broken!

My SRI filter touches the hood in a spot... sh!tty AEM construction. The only part touching is the filter part so no noise and nothing is wrong, just stupid fit.
But no as you have it it looks good.

Noo, I havent. I have been planning to, I had the DIY printed out and everything else, my craftsmans are ready but I couldnt find the time, I started a new job and since Im off from school all my days have been eaten up. I dont have enough light at night.
Sooner or later I will tho.

it makes a big difference, and it's really easy too, i didn't even need the diy, loosen 2 nuts, tighten one, then put it back on the mount and tighten the other nut..done just remember not to make it too tight otherwise the car gets flooded, you can break your cable, it's just overall a bad thing.
best way to do it is have someone help you, take the cable off and your intake, push the assembly til the throttle is completely open (the plate is vertical), then have the other person put the pedal all the way down and tighten it that way so it wont over-stretch the cable

Ummm I have a fantastic solution. If you think its hitting, first confirm it, then take a hack saw or tubing cutter and whack 1/4" off the end that goes into the throttle. just file off any burrs before you re-install it.

Thanks for all the help guys.
Can anyone recommend a good polish so I could make that intake shine again, it got a lil grimey over time.
I tried soap and water but to no avail

My first intake on my LX was the AEM and it rubbed on my hood too. I just cut the piping down (like was just said) and then it was fine. But then I wasn't happy with how it was made and I bought the K&N Typhoon. Much better IMO and its not polished so I don't have to clean it every five seconds. By the way, Nevr-Dull works pretty good on that AEM tube.
