cf trunk with oem spoiler?
cf trunk with oem spoiler?
I know it is possible, but how difficult is it to put the oem (lighted) rear spoiler on a cf trunk? Does the cf trunk make it any more difficult to run any necesisary wiring? Also, anyone have pics of it done? If you were wondering, I'm going for the cf hood and cf trunk on my metallic magnesium 2dr with the metallic magnesium spoiler. thanks people, and YES i did search with no luck

somebody had an OEM wing on thier really red coupe with a CF trunk. I don't think it looked that good with the red wing on the trunk imo. But it isn't hard to put the spoiler and run the wireing with the CF trunk since that was your origional question.
this isn't a for sure answer, but i would assume you would need to take the same approach on dirll through the cf as you would in the hood pins diy to avoid the fiberglass cracking....

i have a buddy that has a CF trunk with a CF wing, but his is a S2000 and the wing looks nice on it. I would say no to a OEM spoiler. But just be careful drilling, or your gonna be one sad person with it cracks.
follow this basic idea to be careful and get a good hole\mount....one thing also, look into re-inforcing the fiberglass underneath (maybe with a metal plate of something) so the force doesn't break the fiberglass

thanks for the speedy responses... i am aware of the cf drilling and the precautions that NEED to be takin', not f'n up my cf trust me. so opinion wise, think the oem wing on cf trunk would look good (metallic magnesium)? i REALLY like the simple, non-obnoxious oem style wing, just wanna know if the colors (cf w/ metallic magnesium) would appeal to others.

Glad I could help! I think I deserve a rep! Took forever to find that.
me personaly, no, but that's just not what i want on the car I drive. as for seeing that car on the road, i'd probably think it looks good assuming the rest of the car is done well
