Rep Power: 410 why would you want to disable your passenger airbag? that would only be useful if you had a baby seat in the front (ILLEGAL, BTW).

Rep Power: 368 So you won't have to spend extra dollars when you get into an accident when there is no one in the passenger side?
And yes there is a cutoff. For example, in the new 05 Avalon; when the seat reaches a certain weight the airbag turn ons, and where there is no one (or object) in the passenger seat, it disables.

Rep Power: 0 ^^^ Oh yeah, it's also in the Toyota Corollas as well. But I don't think you'll be able to do that in the Civic though. It's probably programmed into the ECU or something.

Rep Power: 0 they have that in the new 2006 corolla i belive that my gf just got. basicly its there if you dont have any one driving with you due to it will save you like a few hundred in a crash. only down side is if its on and you dont put your seat belt on right away there are weight sencers in the seat that make an alarm go off untill you put it on.

Rep Power: 306 i think hes talking about a tray that you can get so you can take out your airbag and utilize that space, something like this:

Rep Power: 325 if you're looking to cut off the power of the airbag with some kind of switch, yes it is possible but I will caution you.
If you are turning the power off and on without disconnecting your battery for a period of 30 mins (to be safe), you run the risk of surging it and causing it to open!
