Rep Power: 0 Got Rear Ended *Pics*
On my way to school. Traffic was stopped, so I stopped too. Guy behind me looked at a plane (we were next to Bartow County Airport) and looked back forward and saw me stopped. He didn't have enough time to stop so I got hit.
I went to my local collision place where my cousin's fiance works... It's $2300 in damage. But his insurance has to pay oh well. Guess the Civic will be in the shop for a lil while.

Rep Power: 244 hey N00b.... same thing happend to a freind of mine, the insurance will pay that amount for a trunk and then they have to pay for the prep work and paint on it...and when added up, that equals the cost of a CF trunk...thats how my friend got one.

Rep Power: 277 are they just gonna fix that trunk and repaint it? or replace the whole thing? if they're replacing the whole thing it should cost just as much as getting a new CF trunk.
if they're only paying you $300 for the trunk, why don't you just pay them around 150~200(max) for a CF trunk????

If I could find a CF Trunk for around $300-400 I could ask my cousin if they could just buy that or something and put it on instead of buying a new factory trunk.

Rep Power: 0 Sucks doesn't it. I went to the collision place, where my cousin works. And he is going to fix some small dents/scratches that I've had on my car way before the wreck. Also they are replacing the whole bumper, inside and the cover. New emblems, new trunk. And I'm getting a 4-wheel alignment. My muffler is ok though.

Rep Power: 285 I hope you're gonna make money off this cuz that estimate is way too high. Rear bumper painted should be around 500 and a new trunk should also be around 500 painted and installed... so thats 1000.
Around here when people (smart people) get into accidents they go to a body shop which gives them a rediculous quote, get that money from the insurence, the body shop does a quick repair if its something simple (like your damage) and pays the customer part of the insurence claim money.
Since you have a connection at that body shop I hope you're doing the same thing.... if not you're letting a body shop make a ton of money of you. Go there and tell them you want at least pocket 500 dollars for using them.

I thought $2300 is way too high for just the trunk/bumper/LABOR
Why don't you just get the Money from the insurance company and fix them ur self?
It should be a piece of cake installing CF trunk/ rear bumper
look for a ssm bumper or other colored rear bumper from this site for cheap (100~150ish?) and get a cf trunk for like $450-500
you'll have bunch extra $$$ left
