Rep Power: 0 i agree round would look much better. i thinkg he should reinforce it. run to bars from the bcak corners to the trunk some solid in the trunk, He get's into an accident that who;e structure might not hold.

Rep Power: 0 ya absolutley don't look to bad, gotta support that thing just incase you get into an accident unless you want to go into the winshield. If it was me i would have just went with something like sparco makes, still allowes uses of 5 point harnesses but you don't have to remove back seat. Just weld like a Mother FU@*#r

Rep Power: 0 thanks for the comments so far
as it stands right now, im running on my stock seats until the bar is 100%
yes as stated above, i am going to reinforce the bar by using an aluminum x brace onto an aluminum rear strut bar
square tubing was used because of its accessibility and cheapness in price. i like how the bar looks
i dont see why there are concerns with the safty of it. i believe those bolts will hold in the case of an accident. its actually taking stress off the seatbelt bolts because its bolted to the floor the weight is distributed to 6 bolts within the car which 2 would normally hold
and no, i dont plan on welding my car as it will be for sale within the next couple of years
also because of it being aluminum, it is extremely light.
i'll keep you updated

Rep Power: 0 The x brace sound's like a good idea, hope it reinforces the bar well enough. But i do dissagree i don't think the bolt's will hold, but i could be wrong. Keep us posted.

im also looking into the possiable bolt issues. never the less i wont have seats mounted until after the winter, so i'll give me some time to play around with it

Rep Power: 0 i dont know whether to paint it red or polish it to a mirror finish?
anyway, the welding on that was tough because of it had to be tig welded because of it being aluminum. i got a buddy to help me weld it up because i cant afford a tig welder.
^^ and boy am i getting excited looking at numbers like the sig above @ 7psi
