New front door marker lights installed w/pics!
Well I was reaching for a mod to do on such a nice weekend.
And here is what happened. I decided to do LED, they were triple the price around $8 each but they're smaller and cooler looking
The good part, I installed the actual hardware in about a minute with screws and a knife. The BAD part was making them work properly
I was trying to make them come on when the dome light does, and first tried the door switch. No good. Then tried the 10 wires in the a-pillar. nothing! So finally I end up having to run tons of wire up and actually tap the two wires going to the dome light. And even now they only work if the dome light is on (constant) or in door mode. If you keep the dome light off, it won't work. So my dome lights are staying on now looks like. Okay after 3 hours I finished ONE side. And I'm calling it quits cause I need more wire now to do the passenger door. Maybe tomorrow. Here are pics!!
Opinions?? They are very bright as you can see them in bright daylight. Great safety feature since I always park on the street with cars and bicycles coming by.

nice i wanted to do that years ago! i bought some side markers that i planned to use, i spray painted half of each lens red (with this transparent paint) the long way. it came out great but i dreaded the wiring issue too much to go through with the install.

thanks I like them even tho most don't it seems. Well they're hidden anyway so no big deal. I prolly should've done a better job wiring it cause they're all on the outside of the door. Kinda hard to see tho I put e-tape over the red one.
But at least it looks clean mostly. Now tuesday my EL stuff comes in so I can finish up the trunk. Thats gonna look sweet.

yea thanks. I park outside my lab alot at night and there are always bikes and cars going by. This way they can see when the door is open. Most of the luxury cars have these and they're wired to a dome light. So when you turn off the car and open the door, they light up. I'll get some night pics up soon
I thought most people would like it but oh well.

so you like em? lol. I got em from farm and fleet. They have regular bulb ones everywhere but they're bigger and nowhere near as bright.
