Im planning on upgrading to the 8th gen civic sedan now that Im getting older and find it less of a hassle for my family and friends. Now if I trade in my 02 civic ex coupe getting close to 40,000 miles I probably get about 10,000 hopefully 11,000 if Im lucky. Or I can sell it to my friend who wants my car for 13000 with everything I put into it--

I spent over 5000 on this car so do you guys think its better to part everything out and trade it in for maybe 10000 or 11000 for the 8th gen sedan or sell the car with everything to my friend for 13000 and then get the 8th gen sedan

part out for the money, and trade it in for a gaurenteed if its only 40k on it then you should get 11 or 12 i would think, but less if its not stock. so if you kept your stock stuff after you installed all that crap^^^ then your set if not then sell it to the friend. its a judgement call, if you can make more partin out then so be it.

If he's a good friend, sell it to him. If not, part out the parts and put it back to stock, then trade it in.

sorry for the thread jacking. on your issue, i would just say its a numbers game. go to the dealership you want to trade it in at and ask them exactly how much you could get for it if it was stock. have them put it in writing. then figure out how much you could sell your aftermarket stuff for, and add the 2 up. if it equals less than 13,000 - sell it to your friend.

i say sell it to your friend for 13k. Less hassle, you can make more money if you part it out, but its going to be a lot of hassle shipping it out and dealing with low ballers
