from slow to 2.0
i havent been on here in a wile but i have good news
Im goin from all sho and no go to all sho with a 2.0
my car went in monday to my local tuner shop STRICT FAB. i decided to get the k20a3 last week on a wim after sellin my dirtbike and afew other things. I was goin to do the swap in our shop but i heard that the k swap is kinda hard, so i figured that maby that shouldnt be my first. the date of finish should be the 8th of next month if everything goes right and after it gets tuned. ill have pics soon as the swap goes on. if anyone can tell me how much HP ill be getin please tell me. they guys at the shop say my car will be good for 14s...is this a posibility...i est my hp will be around 230
K20a3
hondata Kpro
hasport mounts
injen intake
evo full pypeing
PS..im sellin the old engine not that anyone would buy it but....
its from my 01 LX
its got 45K
non vtec
with a new stage 2 clutch
and an 8 lb flywheel

k20a3? ... cool deal ... with those mods, you'll probably 150-155 whp ... you may hit high 14's if you're a good driver.
with a k20a3, you cannot get 230 whp without having a turbo, nitrous or supercharger.

i just did some research and
the K20a3 has 200hp BUT....thats to the flywheel
at the wheels its 160 some
after Kpro and the mods ill have just under 200whp
so i was wrong with the 250 cuz i forgot about there bein less to the wheels

my friend Josh aka Drivetofast swapped a k20a3 from an Si. With hondata intake manifold gasket, electric power steering (does not contribute to parasitic engine power loss), AEM CAI, throttle body coolant bypass, Greddy Evo2, NGK iridiums, he dyno'ed at 126 whp.
he recently got a DC RH and dyno'ed at 141 whp ...
but then again, he has a check engine light due to no cat ... so maybe that may be a little of it. I think he may have a weak motor too ... so I dunno. I don't think kpro, i/e would would put you at 170 whp ... I dunno though ...

btw, I don't think a k20a3 is worth it ... for notes on why a k20a3 isn't that great, check this out

kinda low imo 126whp out an a3. I remember seeing at ep3hatch forum a base dyno is 14?.
I sure wish my car was newer

It's "changed?" That's an expensive change. Either this is bs or the shop you took your car to is shady. If I remember correctly, an A2 goes for like twice the price of an A3.

we raced again after he got his DC RH and he pulled a couple cars ... ;P ... that's more like it... but still ... low numbers.
