Rep Power: 787 mothers metal polish + my dirty engine bay = ready for car show
Finally finished polishing up for the show tomorrow. It took 3 days of work to get it nice and new looking. Also moved the alarm siren from in front of the header (bad circuit city) to the spot between battery and fuse box. Lemme know what you guys think.

Rep Power: 787 Thanks. I used mothers metal polish for the metals (which took forever and still didn't get everything), orange clean for the dirt on wires and stuff, and armorall on some of the plastics like wire cover and fuse box.

Rep Power: 0 What do you need to cover up before you spraying the engine? Did you just spray it down with simple green and spray off and then do the detailing or what? Besides the alternator, what else needs to be covered?

Rep Power: 787 i'm not a fan of spraying water in the engine bay. Everything was done with a few cotton t-shirts and alot of rubbing!

what mothers did you use? the one in red container or the billet mothers. If, you didnt use the billet mothers metal polish i suggest you try it. It works good, for $10 it works!

Rep Power: 0 Damn man, that looks awesome. I've heard though that you should always have the siren pointing down to guard against water and debris. Maybe not though. Still an awesome job!!

Rep Power: 271 This may be a dumb question, but with us with a stainless steel header, is there any way to make polish that off and take off some of the oxidation. Anyone with a cheap "stainless" header like mine knows what I'm talking about. Its not as shiny when new and now seems to have a glaze over it which is probably oxidation. Any way to polish that up again?
BTW I'm not talking about removing the goldish/blue/purple color from the heat, just the surface oxidation. Thanks

Rep Power: 787 you could try, i mean it IS metal after all I'm sure it would do something. Only thing with metal is...it will go back to the way it was before because of oxygen in the air.
