i installed my g5 sides by myself and one thing i highly suggest you to do is clean the **** off of the skirts, or else they would not stay.
make sure you scrape the old tape off as much as possible, make use of a very sunny day to let the sun bake and soften the old tape, as well as goo gone to loosen the tape a little bit more. i found that using the putty metal putty scraper thing works the best. make sure you take every little bits off, this might be a long process but it would be worth it at the end.
after all the tape bits are off, rub the area where tape is going on with alcohol, both on the skirts and the car, then apply tape.
the tape i used was 3M double sided automotive tape, don't use any other cheap crap, been there done that and regreted it.
take your time when putting the skirts on, it would help to have someone assist you. good luck.

use some epoxy... theres this stuff called... seal all which i bought at homedepot, works the best. i use it on my xenon side skirts and they have not budged an inch. put the tape on, then spread a little on top of the tape and then push on and they wont budge a bit. been through winter and everything and no problems. and thats lowered in the winter and even scraping or what not and not a thing. works the best. and will hold those suckers on, cuz urethane sags like hell. i think thats what u got urethane right? gl with them not sagging and staying on.

^^^ Yeah, its a bitch taking that tape off, but if you want to take it off cleanly, you have to kind of "roll it off." instead of pealing it, I used my thumb to push the tape off, and rolling it along. (I know my description sucks). my hands were really sore afterwards..

heat them up under the sun and use goo gone. take the pain right now and you won't regret it in the future. this is a verrrry important step so make sure it's done right.
I know this is old, but ended up here looking for info on the mounting tape.
Regarding the adhesive removing thing...I've used lighter fluid to remove left overs and it's worked great, but I'm a little concern about its quemicals damaging the paint...although so far so good...
IrockCivics,
Did you finally get your side skirts on? Can you post some pics like from underneath to have an idea? I'm in the process of installing my Type R sides, but they are from PhaseNine and only bring some screws as hardware, wtf??
no double sided tape, brackets or plates, so I'll prolly be doing some custom aluminum brackets on the bottom to get mine on...
Anyone has suggestions on PhaseNine sides installation?
