I got an email from team prototype. They told me... Most items you buy are not 100% carbon fiber, if they were they would cost around 1200 for a hood.

Most of what you can buy in our price range is wet carbon fibre too, wet carbon fibre isn't that light, its for show and it will be lighter than oem but so would fiberglass.The stuff they make planes and F1 cars from is called dry carbon and has a much more mate finish......just FYI

Rep Power: 296 Everything I know about carbon fibre is from a customer of mine. He is a professor here at UBC and deveped the software Boeing uses to make the million dollar CF parts for 777's and stuff like that, and he said for the most part your not getting the true product in which CF has such a world wide reputation for.
