*Update* Turbo the b16 or swap it with a hooked up B18C5 ITR motor
*update*
I got the ITR motor and loving it! glad i went with N/A, thanks for everybody's inputs!
Well i have a 2000 Civic SI and the b16 needs to be rebuild because of hydrolocked not too long ago...well i have a few options really, one being i could rebuild the b16 with the works and turbo it to make about 300whp for everyday driving @11-15 psi, the rebuild will cost me about 5800 installed and turned, or i can get an ITR motor hooked up pushing around 225whp for the 4500 installed and turned. another thing i can do is get another stock b16 and throw a turbo on that making about 260whp @7-8 psi for daily driving...the kicker is i want a running car for the next 5-8 years with no worries, thats why im lookin to getting the B18C5, plus ill have a stock hydrolock b16 sitting here that i could get fixed maybe and sell it to save me more money getting the B18C5. what do u all thing i should do

rebuild the b16 you have for all motor. up the compression a bit install stage 2 cams/springs/retainers IM port the head head use arp hardware hondata tune and enjoy some nice reliable na power. and if you are going to use a cai again use a bypass valve.

i would go ITR motor...cuz once u hydrolock ur engine that engine is pretty much screwed...i've dealt with hydrolocked engines before and 99% of the time we had to replace the motor...happened mostly on hondas with a cold air intake without a water bypass valve
NA with the ITR motor, any forced induction, espeically Turbo there always maintenence involved gahh..lol..i think if you want a car for the next 5-6 years with no problems..the B18 is the way to go. i would anyways.
well ive been in an all motor fixed up n/a b16 before...its ok but the money spent on rebuilding it would cost the same as swaping the ITR motor in....but the with ITR it would save me more time and money as well because it wont have to be sent off or anything and plus i could sell the b16 for cheap
I sure wish my car was newer

The ITR will save you time, money, and, most importantly, headaches. Dealing with building an engine up for turbo can be a real PITA. You'll have more potential down the road if you go with the ITR, too.

If you go B18, B18A/B is probably the best, the B18C1 is also really good, but has a little higher compression, but also has the advantage of VTEC.
Do not turbo a B18C5 it'll go boom.
As for the B16. There about the same as a B18C1 when it comes to boost except for a little less power. Out of the three I would boost a B18B.

5800 is putting a turbo on it and running 300+whp at 12-15 psi...k20a2 is ok but i wouldnt want to spend more time and money on somthing so much slower

also
6 speed > 5 speed
he cant get a k20, he has a EK Si. Now that thats outa the way. Dont build an N/A b16. TO EXPENSIVE, and the results will get u basically wat a stock ITR puts out. Turbo B16 will fly, but id go turbo b18c1 ( GSR). my friend ran 11.89 on a STOCK b18c1, with 11 psi. had no problems. I say easily u will have it 5-6 years if u put it on 7-8 PSI, and it will SMOKKKKEEE any b16a turbo, N/A ITR, or b18a/b turbo. The high compression really doesnt come into effect untill ur up around 15psi.

B18, my friend had a built b18c1 with a precision sc61 turbo. Car pulled like crazy. He blew his tranny and while he was fixing it at the guys house he bought the car from....the engine got stolen http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1119324

I'd say B18C5 because there is nothing like a powerful N/A motor.

Still for the price of a k20 in an Ek, u can easily make a car that runs A LOT faster track times.
