Rep Power: 248 Just Side Skirts? *update w/pics*
Anyone have pictures of a Civic with just side skirts (with stock bumpers)? Please post or link to it here. If you don't have any pics then could you please give your opinion on this? Thanks!

Rep Power: 0 i think it would look retarded! i personally wouldn't put on side skirts by itself. i don't even like front kits on by themselves. get the entire kit first!!

Rep Power: 0 04 and 05 Vics look hot with just SS's, because their bumpers flare out. The 01-03 Vics don't look too good because their bumpers are flush with the sides

01-03 look ok with the OEM or type A sides, cuz they are relatively simple, but anything else just looks out of place.

And as I stated in the thread where he posted it Ive seen it and it looks good, and belive me I hate half kits or lips if the make the car even a bit off balance ....the new areo kit lowers the lines front and back very little .The 7.5gen fronts and rears are already lower than stock 01-03 bumbers because they have the "flares" in the fasia design.
IMO the 7.5's are they only car you can put only one part of the OEM kit and not have it look like *** sandwich.

Rep Power: 248 Hey thanks all of you for posting the pics and giving me all this feed back so soon, I didn't actually expect as much but keep it coming. It's pretty hard to search these things out.
I'd still like to see an '01 so maybe I'll photochop or something. I do agree, the '04 are just amazing cuz of the fact they don't cry for a front or rear bumper, so it's hardly an issue with them.

Rep Power: 269 IMO it really depends on the sides used. Some emphasize the car more than others.
That Tsunami sideskirt blends in very well with the stock front & rear bumpers; it passes almost unnoticed because it's just a straight line, but when you give it a second look it's like hmmm, nice...
By the way, how much were they rolla? If that's your car, nice ride man!

Rep Power: 248 Kay, I can't believe I actually did this but I ordered side skirts for my virtually stock Civic, so if you can all wait about a month for me to get them ordered, painted and installed then I'll get pictures posted here and we can all learn from (laugh at) my mistake. I'm pretty nervous cuz I don't exactly have the cash now to get a bumper or to lower the car so that means I'll be stuck with it looking like that for probably a year.
For those of you who feel the type of side skirt is the question here then in my case it's the JT Evo 5 sides that I'll be putting on...

Rep Power: 0 I have an '05 Magnesium EX Coupe and just ordered the OEM sideskirts this past weekend. I'll post pics up soon when I put them on this weekend. I've seen a few pics around here of 04/05's with just the OEM sideskirts and it looks awesome to me.
Since they redesigned the bumpers, the 04/05's "flares" make the front/back seem lower than the middle of the car. The OEM sides make the bottom of the car more of a fluid line.

Rep Power: 0 side skirts alone could look decent depending on which ones you get, but it could also look very bad

Rep Power: 248 Okay, time for an update.
My "genuine Honda" splash gaurds arrived and I took my car in this morning to the shop along with the Evo5 sideskirts. If things go well I should have my car back by the weekend. Here's a recent pic of someone "mock fitting" the sides to my Civic...
My sister and her fiance said my Civic will look like a pregnant guppy. Dammit, they're probably right, ah well too late now.
Also, I just wanted to state what is probably common knowledge around here, but holy frig! Doing this stuff is so expensive, I had no idea what I was getting into, the cost is much much worse than I had originally estimated it to be. I could have just got a drop on coilovers instead. I've never been so financially insecure in my life.
Let me know if anyone here is still interested in me posting updates on this.
