Engine bay pics lx/vtec head swap..
just thought i would share what was under my hood if anybody ever wondered. here's a rundown of the specs...
-EX Vtec head swap
-Custom camshaft (made by Web)
-AEM adjustable cam gear
-eBay CAI re-routed to behid the motor (stays really cool)
-VAFC2 (slightly tuned)
-B+G coilovers
-Neuspeed uppers strut bar
and i think thats about it.. oh and i threw in a pic of the rims I roll on.. SSR Competition C rims 16 x 7 weighing in at about 11 lbs a piece wrapped in falken ziex 512s. enjoy!
edit: and no the stock filter box is empty it doesnt have the stock filter in it. it only has a cone filter on the end of the cai pipe.

i can tell 0-60 improved a bit.. its more tuned for early-mid range power cuz thats basically where it can be most beneficial considering we dont have top end lol.. vtec engagment(sp?) is set at 4500. you can def feel it switch to high cam i suggest this mod to anybody who is looking for a lil extra power (lx models that is). only thing i would like to do is get an elbow made for the intake and remove the filter box. i think it has more potential rather than being hooked up like that..

uhm well i got the head, cam, cam gear all with the kit.. the head was ported n polished and i bought the vafc2 and gaskets.. seperate from the head and stuff i spent $260 for vafc2 and around $35 for gaskets. the pnp head was missing a few parts so i was able to obtain another motor that i was planning on building for boost so i used the vtec solenoid from that. i only paid $200 for the entire motor but i'm sure the solenoid at a junkyard would only be around $20-$50.

and it is an easy DIY if you know a dent amount about engines like timing and what not.. we had to re-adjust my timing to get it just right. if you dont know what you are doing, take it to a shop.

yea well with the battery relocated to the trunk and the stock intake system gone.. there is like a ton of room around the front. but thats also where the header is which gets super crazy hot so i decided to give this a shot. the pipe is tie-strapped to something back there (copper like bar). i had to do that in order for it not to hit while i would shift.. i dunno what you call it. def worth the work and time put into it.
