that doesn't really change anything at all. 130ps is equivalent to appx 130hp, or 127hp for the EX model and the only "d17a" that i can think of that makes 127hp is the d17a2. the canadian SI gets 127hp. the european civic ex gets 127hp. the japanese ferio gets 127hp...and so on. in malaysia and thailand honda decided they would up the ante, so to say, and drop in a k20a3 stock.

the absence of the 2 from d17a2 just goes to show my point that the "k20a" they are speaking of isn't the actual k20a (integra type-r motor, 220hp), but rather the k20a3.

i already stimpulated that you were correct in your statement that it is a k20a3. The author obviously doesn't know all honda engine variants and just labeled it by there series names. He was trying to state that the asian market only got the 130ps civics when compared to the jdm, euro and US markets.

I understand the idea your trying to convey. Just saying you shouldn't take quotes out of context because that can be misleading.

so why do we go to HASport for mounts and A/C lines again? price might be equivalent, but nothing beats OEM IMO.

I think because Thailand is the only one who does this. Way too much involved to get OEM stuff from there to here.

Not necessarily I would think. There is a link on the ilovecivic.com site to contact Honda of Thailand. As long as you can get someone to answer in english you should be able to negotiate a way to buy / ship the odds and ends pieces. I mean.. hoses, motor mounts and even looks like a different bracket for mounting the power steering (if they use hydraulic and not eletric). Someone should look into that.

100 rep points if someone can contact them and work out a way to buy the parts.
