they might prime it and get some spray paint and paint it for that much! A decent paint job is gonna run ya at least 500 and thats just for basic colors! Want metallic or pearlescent and you can add another zero to that figure my friend! Of course it does depend on the shop and what the shop owner feels like charging you!

yea my dad had this old *** astro van he just drove to work everyday , he got it painted at one of those places for like 400 and yea it lasted maybe like a year and a half to two years .... that **** started flaking off and crap.. he didnt care cause it was old..
its possible depending whose doing it, who will/would and what kind of job is going to be done.
for $300, im gonna say its a simple basic color with no clear coats, no pearl, nothing. just straight up paint. probably no primer either? as the saying goes: you get what you pay for

300 is possible for a good paint job, but it's very unlikly. Especially if you were talking about a color change. normally a paint job will run about 1200-2500 (excluding candies, pearls, marbles, etc.) If you trust the work and have seen their work before, then go for it. But knowing what I know as of now, I wouldn't do it.

After I got in an accident with my old car (1990 Toyota Camry) I got it fixed and repainted at a local Maaco. I got the middle of the line paint job (800 dollars or so) with pinstripes (the thin ones down the side), and I got it painted a shiny maroon. The whole time it was getting fixed I was anxious about the paint, and I was afraid it would come out flat and ugly. However, I was VERY impressed with their work. The paint was shiny, and had depth, and it didn't flake or fade in the year before trading the car in. Make sure to get the door jams done though, and dont expect it to be quite as good as the factory job.
noooo dont do it. this is what i do for a living. for 300, i wouldnt even prime your car. now imagine how excited a painter is going to be when he's getting 300 to sand, fix any small dings, prime, tape off, and paint ur car? i wonder how good of a job he's gonna do. lolz. not trying to be a ****, buts its life, and thats how the industry is. crap pay=crap work.
but i did get my paint job for 400..... but i did it myself.

do u work for a paint place? and honda guy how much did your paint job cost from macco? They have the 250 dollar ambassador special! the only thing i would ever go to ambassador is if i wanted a primered hatch
my friend paints and has his own shop, i can get mine done for around 400-600 dollars. all i'm paying for is the paint and painting materials and just givin him like 100 or 200 dollars for the work. It may not be House of Kolor paints but rest assured it's good quality paint and a very nice job... it just takes forever getting **** painted cause payin customers come first =)
