change of plans
Ok I had been looking at exhaust or CF hood.
However, now I have an option presented to me.
I could get a used titanium exhaust from a guy near me. he's selling his S2k, so i'd have to give him $300 plus my stock exhaust for his exhaust.
Also, he's selling his gears, and that is so tempting. I could get his 4.57 gears, plus swap for my stock diff/gears for $350. Plus I'd have to pay to have the "pumpkins" swapped. But if I do this, I probably can't get the exhaust.
And then i definitely couldn't get the hood.
ahhhh... decisions! pros, cons you guys can think of?

i dunno much about prices, but if it's a good deal, i'd do that instead of the hood...i dunno if ur talkin about getting the gears and exhaust or just one or the other, but i'd get whatever deal saves u the most $, so basically unless u've got a deal on the hood it's out of the picture, it's down to the exhaust or the gears what saves u the most money and which deal is harder to come by?

i'd say gears over anything ,unless warranty is an issue? didnt you say something about the stock exhaust being better than aftermarket on s2000? exhaust is always available but the gears seem like it would be harder, more expensive to get.

If you are willing to go thru the trouble then get the gears. If not then get the titanium exhaust....only if its all made of titanium. Much lighter than stock and maybe even a slight HP gain. The hood can always come later, but deals like the exh. and gears don't come by that much.

wow, that is a drastic change. With that you are gonna have to swap the speedometer gears and tailshaft gears. Will you be doing the work yourself ????

the tailshaft gears dont need to be swapped. this is simply swapping out the final drive gear in the rear end.
and the speedometer can be adjusted with something called a "yellow box" where you can manually re-adjust the speedo to compensate.

if u buy his exhaust, now you wont have ur stock ones when u wanna go back to stock. u may need it at the most random time (fix it ticket, emissions bs, etc)
as for gears, i dont know how that works well enough. cf hood can always come later. but im assuming you know this guy well and its a gaurantee fine condition exhaust/gears.
