Rep Power: 0 HELP!!! asap im an IDIOT
so yeah i was putting on a different e-brake and didnt measure the rubber to remove or anything. i just started ripping and while i was doing this the car was still on and i believe that it was also in drive i was just applying the brake. so no it looks like **** the e-brake didnt even really fit so i got to do something else with it. AND my ignition wont turn off. its like on the last click before it shuts off. im sure this is because my car was on when i was tearing stuf apart and i hope theres some way to fix it. please help me shut my car off!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhh hahaha i laugh at myself

Rep Power: 0 lucky you didn't fry anything you should never work on your car while it's on and the neg of the battery is connected when you are workin with your car that deals with electricity...
anyway...
there's a metal latch that connects to each other when you pull the e-brake up, that's causing your engine to and not shut off... you will know what I'm talkin about when you look underneath the ebrake...
I connected my TT to that location, so I think that's the problem... you gonna have to connect it to that, so the metal separates when disengaged and connects when it is engaged...
sorry I can't tell you exactly what's it called... let us know how it goes... goodluck!

Rep Power: 0 do u have an auto? When I replaced my shift **** and eBrake handle mine wouldnt shut off either. It is because the button that you push to put the car in gear is engaged. A good way to check is to not push the button and just pull if it moves then thats your problem. The minute I fixed it, it turned right off. Now I just pull up on the shifter everytime I park to be sure. Here is my set up...Stick/auto lol...
