You know back when I had my 01 civic, I installed a 400 dollar deck, and behind it I put razor blades in around the wiring harness, close enough to screw someone up if they tried to steal it, but not so close as to risk cutting the wires. Let's just say nobody stole the deck, but I would have found it entertaining to see my deck missing and blood all over the place. At least I would have gotten my vengeance somehow.

i did the razor blades on my last deck, the deck before it got stolen, but that one never got touched sadly, ended up selling it in the car (i did tell them there were razor blades on it). pictures are unique though, never seen someone completely take out that entire console. nice that they didn't touch the apexi unit.

At least they unplugged the harnesses. A friend of mine's car got broken into and they cut all of the wires so he had to have the dash taken apart an replace the whole harness.

just picture ripping out a deck in a hurry if you were stealing it, then finding out there's razor blaced taped to the back of the deck...ouch..............

well, the theory iss if you have the cage locked into the dash correctly, they can't pull your hu straight out (if your hu is screwed into your cage obviously, if its should sitting there, not too much hope. as far as the hu thing, i'm thinking of buying a new one for the car probably this month, when i do the install i'll take picks of where i put the blades. last time, it wasn't very scientific, when i was installing it i just kind of noticed where i had to place my hands to push the HU out. i'm not sure how it would work on the new vic, but on my 93 the bottom console came off and gave access to the bottom of the hu, the only real way to move it was by grabbing the bottom side of it, so i used some kind of adhesive to put razorblades on the backside of it, where the sharp end was pointing down towards wheover's palms were moving it. i also put two razor blades by the back of the cigarette lighter because you had to kind of manuever your hand through that area to reach towards the hu. however, it doesn't stop everything, but it's a cheap little insurance policy to get back at the thieves. the crazy thieves (crackheads in my expierence) will find nonconventional ways to get it out, ripping your entire dash apart, etc.. they attempted to steal it once, it looked like they tried to pull it straight out, but those little metal tabs on the cage caught like they should. anyway, i'll post pics up later in the month.

anybody can pull it out quickly. In less than 10 seconds it can be out and unplugged. Just yank on the part around the HU, and it will all come out. Sorry to hear about that, I hate dumb*** people. Everybodys been getting jacked on this site lately. Glad Im in the garage. Good luck getting them

what about soldering the razor blades in place cuz tape might come off in heat/cold.. or even using carpet tacks and soldering those in.. them lil suckers are sharp as hell.. oww.. or fishhooks!!!
