Rep Power: 0 I don't get why some people want to paint thier CF hoods/trunk. Yes, everyone has their own taste and style but when I buy a CF hood I buy it for the CF and wouldn't ruin it by painting it the color of my car. Just keep your stock trunk and get CF material, cut it out and throw it on your car. lol

You aren't making a D17 any faster by putting on a cf hood, so why do it? on our cars the only reason to get one is for show purposes.

Rep Power: 0 if i had carbon fiber, i would paint it too. i'm only into it for the weight savings (even though it is small, it still is a weight savings). and i'm not into the carbon fiber fad, everyone and their mom and dog have carbon fiber everything, it's annoying.
btw, option 2 looks rad.

I guess Ferraris and Lamborghinis suck when they paint their carbon fiber, too, right?

The carbon-fiber tub and body panels arrive at Scaglietti from outside suppliers (it's all carbon-fiber, the black parts are resin-finished, the red and green ones are primed for paint by different suppliers.
Ferrari uses carbon fiber to save weight, they paint it cause paint is better looking than carbon fiber.
If i bought anything carbon fiber i'd paint it, only time carbon fiber looks half way exceptable is on a black car, anytime else i think it looks retarded IMO. Just like altezzas i hope the carbon fiber fad dies soon.

Rep Power: 264 Anyone with photchop skills wanna do a cf weave instead of the just black out section look. Give silvrbreeze a better finished picture. I think it will look extremely good using #2 template.

Rep Power: 0 Yes, the purpose of carbon fiber is weight reduction, but to spend hundreds of dollars to lose a few pounds on a CIVIC is ridiculous. To me, the person wasting the money to lose a few pounds over a stock trunk lid or hood is the bigger fool than the "ricer" buying it for looks.

I do, however, think that looks cool with the trunk painted except for the part around the plate.

Rep Power: 264 I'm sure Silverbreeze could put it into better words but this is the deal. He might trade stock trunk plus some cash to get the cf trunk. He doesnt like the severe contrast between silver/cf. Thats why he wants to paint it. He might leave that section cf because a) so the average guy can tell its cf and b) to get points at shows for having cf
When i talked to him.. that's what i got from it.
Peace

Rep Power: 0 I think painting the whole thing would look good, unless you can get the silver cf trunk. SOmeone had it on this site.
btw, I'd paint a cf hood or trunk. I like cf and all that, but I daily drive to New Orleans 5 days a week. Its more of hiding it and enjoying the effect at the same time.
