Water in my engine
I met a relative down in San Antonio earlier today . . . halfway there it started raining REALLY bad and a bunch of streets ended up getting blocked off from flooding. I was going about 50 and a puddle hit me, I have an Injen CAI, and my car bogged down. I have an auto and put it in neutral and coasted to a stop . . . restarted to car and redlined the engine and drove it for about 15 more minutes to a restraunt.
I put in a fuel additive and a new tank of gas, drove back to Austin (about an hour and a half drive) and redlined the engine a few more times. I was under the impression that if the engine will turn over that you're supposed to drive off the water. The engine was knocking pretty bad in San Antonio, but as I got closer to my house in South Austin my engine knocking was much less noticable.
Should I expect any long term effects from this? This may be a blessing in disguise (K series) but right now I'd rather keep the money I have saved in the bank incase school expenses sneak up on me again like they did last semester. Any comments are appreciated on what I can do to possibly save my engine. Thanks in advance :-)

Guess I am lucky that it's still running and got me home . . . but is this engine still going to be reliable?

The only problem he could have is misfiring because of the water mixed with fuel. A bent rod is the result of a broken or loose timing belt or timing chain...

Rep Power: 0 Well I got the throttle body ready to be taken off . . . just waiting for the engine to cool down a bit so that I dont have to wear gloves. So far, the 3rd ignition coil from the left looks scorched, it's all brown and smells like it's burnt or something, and all the other ones look normal. we'll see what happens when I pop off the throttle body . . . I am gonna eat dinner first.
