Damn I am Mad

Well yes, I am pissed. I offically now think I need a new oil pan.

If anyone remembers, awhile ago I stripped the threads in the oil pan, so I screwed in a oversized drain plug. Well the first one had a hard rubber washer on it, and after a week I put the car on the school lift and there was oil coming out of the drain bolt. Only a small amount, but it still bothered me.

Well today I replaced that washer with a metal one, but it is still leaking out from the bolt. So I think I now need a new oil pan.

Unless anyone knows how to solve this problem without buying a new one. I dont really want to buy one, but I think I am out of options.

Only thing I am worried about is if I do replace the oil pan, my exhaust is welded on, so how the hell am I going to get that pan out of there?

Any suggestions on everything would be helpful.

What about when I want to remove the bolt and washer when I do the next oil change? What kind would I get?

youd have to redo it every oil change. any auto motive grade silicone would work. like liquid gasket.

Honda replaces the washer on the plug each time they do an oil change. They refer to it as a "crush washer". It is a non-reuseable item. Not sure what the material is, but, I agree with the others though, I have smeared high temp silicone around a nylon washer and it works just fine. I would replace the nylon washer with a new one each time, as well as the silicone. Best of luck.

yellowjacket has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Get some JB weld and just completely seal the drainplug and hole. (drain oil first). Let it dry overnight and drill a new one and tap it.

^id remove the pan to do that..i wouldnt want metal shards floating around in my oil pan. That is, however, a cheap way to get around it.

I'd remove the pan if you're going to tap it. I'd also stay away from silicone, because oil usually breaks it down anyways. Just drop your exhaust and do this right so you don't have to worry about it anymore.

In any case, you will need to pull the pan. Take it to a welder/machine shop, and they will be able to fix it for you.
