So back in June I was driving in a huge rainstorm (bad idea) and I drove around a blind curve onto the flooded street (there was nothing I could do to stop in time) my CAI intake sucked up a ton of water, and as each cylinder compressed it they tried to compress water this broke 3 rods and bent the forth one. It happened really fast, the second I hit the puddle the engine stopped, I towed it home and got under the car to see a rod hanging though my oil pan
. So I got a new EX motor off eBay ($600) with only 14k on it. And I put it in and was up and running before the beginning of July.
But all this on a car with only 12,000 miles on it. while it was out this gave me a good time to put my turbo on.
people with a CAI be careful of rainstorms.
