Sell Civic for 00 SI?
I'm thinking about probably getting rid of my 02 EX. One of my friends co-workers is selling his 2000 Civic SI Coupe for $4k. The engine is having compression problems but the body and interior are in excellent condition. Do you think I should sell my civic and buy his? Is $4000 too much? If I do buy it, I'll be getting the engine completely rebuilt and put a turbo on it. The guy who does engine work for me quoted around $6000 for everything.
I wouldn't do it personally. The Si has been done before time and again it is not anything new. The old Si is easy to steal and the styling is getting a bit dated. The 6thgen body style was first realeased in 1995 as a 96 model. Stick with the 7thgen save yourself the bs of dealing with someone elses beat up old toy. Just my 2cents.

i'd jump on it, but i wouldnt sell my 7thgen just because of that...
$4g can be pocket money; to some. i'd personally wait til i can come up with the 4k without selling my car. if you got the 6g to rebuild, then im assuming you definately got the 4g to pay for the si itself.

Money isn't really an issue as of right now. I have about $12,000 to play around with, plus whenever I sell my car, it's just about paid off so I'll have that money as well.
I live in a town of about 20,000 people. Cars never get stolen around here and when a car does get stolen, it's all in the papers cuz that's considered "big news". ha, the most common crime around here is probably drunk driving or speeding.
And I can rig up some sort of sweet security system for this thing so it doesn't get stolen...
Well, my car is officially up for sale now... Wish me luck lol

i dont think they're the utmost amazing car like most people..maybe because ive riden/driven/seen them so much but thats just me....then again id take it, the b16 has great potential and the extra power at 8000rpm makes it all worthwhile.

I live in Milwaukee and my firends civic Si was stolen!! Cops found it about 10 hours later totally stripped.
If I were in your position I would probably still trade my 7th gen for it, however get an alarm or something!!!
