Paint Interior PieceS?

well guys i do have a ssm civic and i want my interior to stand out a little bit. i have gone on ebay and these trim pieces seem to be expensive. all i want to paint is the thign surronding the ac vents on both driver/passenger side and i want to paint the center console.

i have read the diy and i am pretty confident. i mean i will sand it after i primer to make it smooth n stuf. now if i use a clearcoat will it crack..can someone tell me why the paint would crack if u sand and make sure u do nice even coats? or will it only crack if u just spray and thats it.thanks

i did it also recently... had a body shop paint it. DIY has much less of a result. mine came out OEM exterior finish quality. SSM. invest the $150 or so it'll cost to have someone do it for you.

Factory OEM ones are the best. I have the three factory ones, painted my speedo bezel myself which is still fine because it doensn't get touched, and painted my door handles to match. The door handles are all off again, the paint keeps cracking. I'm glad I didn't do the vents myself, JMO. I'm getting the door trim pieces painted at a shop this time, even with primer, you should use a special plastic prep, my guy uses taibond, (sp)?

EBAY trim pieces are nothing like OEM trim. NOTHING NOT EVEN CLOSE. they're like stickers with thick thick clearcoat on them like 500 layers of it. you'll get sick/tired if it in time. just a warning.

I had them one for little while and then I took them off and spraypainted my pieces. Do it right and it will come out awesome. Duplicolor i think, makes spraypaint in OEM colors now. I just chose silver
