I worked for a guy when I was a kid who had a friend that somehow legally purchased an old British armored vehicle, and it still had the .50 machine gun mounted on it, and because of a loophole in the law and that the gun was mounted on delivery, he was allowed to keep it. Sorry about the weak details, but it's been a while now.
