What to do?
I have a great opportunity. I called today about an RSX Type-S rollover I found, and the guy wanted 10,500 for it. I asked him about if I could just buy the motor, he said I couldn't because this particular one had only 62 miles on it, but he had another that he was having Acura to come out and get him a key made for (for some reason he didn't get one). It too is a RSX Type-S. He said the previous owner was estimating the mileage between 18000-20000. I asked him what type of price would he take for the motor, trans, etc. He gave me the figure of $4000. Assuming this one runs and works, would this be a fair price for me to pay for it, knowing I'll have to pay a shop to do the swap for me? I was thinking of offering him $3300 and seeing if he'd take it, if not, working my way back towards his original figure. What would this swap cost me, if I ended up giving him the price he's asking for it, with motor mounts and everything?
The only problem I see with this is it's gonna set me back on the addition of my Air Ride kit, and some of the other stuff I was wanting to do in the near future. But, is this deal too good to pass up?
