how do i know when my vtec kicks in? i can feel it and hear it on my 95 civic but not on my 2002? maybe its not working... is there something i can check?

You may hear a little extra noise, but consider that these are SOHC motors, you won't get too much of anything.

Well you won't feel any difference, but it does turn on around 3k rpms. On the older civics, you could actually hear it. The new 7th gen models are different.

IMO...when vtec kicks in, my throttle become lighter and faster to go up..

so.....

from 0 to 3000rpm...its like....vroommmmmmm..

then, 3000rpm-6000rpm its like....vrooooooooom...

Yesterday I pulled up next to a Mustang, and we ran off the line. He had a length on me within 6 seconds, so I downshifted to 3rd, yelled "VTEC!", mashed it, and zooooom.....smoked past him.

Later he pulled into the same coffee shop as me and said "Damn man, you just turned into a silver blur and flew past me! That's crazy! Where to I get that kind of speed?" I took him to my friend's shop and had him hooked up with a DOHC VTEC sticker. My friend was nice and gave him a TypeR badge too. We put them on the car, and when he started it, an unholy growl came out of the exhaust. i bet he's out there right now, spanking C5's and Ferraris.

i dunno man.... i put in new spark plugs and all i get is vroooooom... oh wait... i have 18" wheels. but if i had 19" chromed spinner dub-a-dub-dubs and a phatty azz NOZZZZZ kit, my car'd definitely go vroooooooooooooooom... and my 8-ball shift **** definitely add at least 15 RWHP on top of hawks figure. my VTEC is real sensitive to mods.

What the hell, you can change your VTEC?? I think I have VTEC-E....or something....02 EX M/T Coupe. Yes, I have no idea when its on...or off...Im lost with VTEC. But, my mom has a 03 Accord EX, and, her iVTEC is...well...unnoticable either...
