Hey guys,
I was planning on getting some recaro's for my vic, but before I go and buy a set, i need to make sure that there won't be any serious electrical problems i'll be facing...namly:
-how to get the car to "understand" that i'm buckled up.
-If you take out the stock seats, the seat belt anchor will be gone right?
-what did you guys who have aftermarket seats do with the wiring?
-what did you do with the stock seatbelt? leave it there? or remove it?
-and a 4+ point harness is safe enough to keep you in your seat from a crash right?
-will airbags deploy if the system "thinks" you're not buckled up?
-are the any other safety issues i have to be aware of?
that's just a list of my general concerns...ALL and ANY info is appreciated...i wanna get everything straight before i go and spend $1000
thnx guys!

well actually you can hook your stock seat belts back up .
at least you can with sparcos and tenzos... so i asume its the same.
as for the srs light you can reset it. so it doesnt show up.
but as for them deploying im not sure i do know that members have discussed that allready so you could search for that.

When I installed my Tenzo's I did the following.
1) remove OEM seats which includes
i) unbolting the rack
ii) undoing the airbag and seatbelt sensors wired under the seats
2) Remove the seatbelt buckle mechanism from the OEM seats and place on the new one's. (Don't lose any washers!!)
3) Put new seats back in car and re-attach sensors.

There's a sensor that is connected on the OEM seats for the SRS. It's merely connected there as a means of routing it to the buckle assembly. Just disconnect the sensor clip and then remove the other end (from the floor) from the seat. The wires on the other end are connected to the buckle.
I'm using the stock seatbelts right now but I'm getting a 4 point. I wouldn't use the 4 point for everyday driving as it keeps you from looking over you shoulder (blind spot). I'm doing SoloII this year so that's why I've decided to get the harness.

Also, if you don't use the stock seatbelt anymore....can you remove the part that attaches to the seat alltogether? Or do you have to "fool" the SRS sensors by keeping it under the seat?
Keep in mind I'm REALLY ignorant as to seating and interior ****. lol
THANKS!

The ends are anchored down in behind the back seats. So you have to remove the bench to get in there. Other way is to weld in a bar which is what I would love to do since I'm getting rid of the rear seats anyway.
I don't advise getting rid of the stock seat belts. Believe me, you can't even partially turn your head when you're in the 4 points. Keep the stock ones for everyday driving. The buckle assembly has the wiring running through it so I think you have to keep it. There's a mount for it on the Tenzo's.
