This just happened about an hour ago here in LasVegas I-15N right before the Spaghetti Bowl... It was hella traffic they are cleaning a 6car collision mess right on the Spaghetti Bowl and the three lane freeway is merging into one... I was stuck there for about 30min
I saw a black 2k1 Civic Lx, with bling bling rims and altezza taillights, nice ride height too, I wanted to say what's up but his window's closed... Anyway we were moving like 5mph stop and go routine, going up on a ramp with about 5% grade... while on stop, MT going up on an inclined road and the car behind you tailgates your *** sucks as we all know!!!
So there we are, he was followed by a Buick not sure what model exactly, a 10yr old car maybe, the first time the Buick tailgated his ***, and stopped about say 2feet behind him, the civic backed up a little bit, he almost backed up on the Buick, but he made it, the second time the Buick stopped behind him about 4feet this time, the civic backed up about 2feet this time before he actually got it on first...
So the third time the Buick probably noticed he was having a hardtime getting it on first gear so this time the buick stopped about 6 feet behind him... but this time the civic rolled all the way back and bam!!! hits the Buick!!!
it was like backing up on something full blow!
the worse is that I saw everything happened,
I was on the inner lane about a car length behind him I was about to blow my horn but hesitated
I could've probably prevented him backing up on that Buick....
The Buicks bumper is fuked up and as well as the 2k1Civic's, man that **** sucks!!! I just felt bad I didn't do jackshit! Oh well, **** happens!

so the guy roller back 6 feet before he finally hit the buick?
i can assure you that the guy in the civic was some idiot ricer with an automatic tranny who put it in nuetral to give the roll back effect..... he forgot to step on the break when the car was in N rolling back.

He's probably a new driver who doesn't know jack... and paid his way through his driving exam.. I'm no guru with Manual.. but I would at least notice that I'm rolling back 6Ft....
Too bad it had to happen that way..

well whos fault would it be legally? i know morally the buick was at fault but in court the driver of the civic wasnt far enough away

a tip for everybody out there... there is a point to how much clutch you can let out without stalling. when in the occaisional situation where you're gonna roll back, feel for that clutch point before letting off the brakes and your car won't even roll back at all - provided its not too steep. if it is, then you just won't roll back as hard.
this isn't wonderful for your clutch life, but it can keep this from happening if the guy behind you tailgates too bad on a hill.... which shouldn't happen too often i hope.
