Clean enough to eat off of...
This is a truely rare event. My car is entered in a show. Nothing big, nor do I expect to win a damn thing. Actually I'm going to promote the SCCA on campus, but thats beside the point. I still want a clean car, despite showing up in race trim... thats now a big problem considering I somehow lost the key to my wheels, thats another story.
Anyways... this is the first time I cleaned the engine... evar.

I even polished the heat shield

And went over all the plastic stuff with bumper black... the flash kinda kills it, I assure you its shiny

Ehh... just felt like sharing, my car is actually gonna be show car clean for about 3 hours.

I did all the dirty stuff with Greased Lightning (Simple Green type stuff) and hosed it off, then went back through on the black plastic with this stuff my dad picked up for the bumper trim on the Bimmer, don't remember the exact name, but it just restore bumpers and plastic trim back to black. You can see the difference vs. the radiator cover which hasn't been done yet. The metal shiny stuff got done with polishing compound then run over again with Mothers Aluminum and Mag polish. The heat shield took a couple tries before it really cleaned up.
BTW, the airbox works great.

Came up with one that draws cool air, doesn't heat up because the piping is rubber, works better than stock and is quiet.
