My boyfriend is a member of this site and is relaly into hooking up his 2001 EX coupe in any way possible. For his birthday I want to buy him something that he can put in his car that you can get for $350 or less. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. To answer the question as to what he has, so far he has done his intake, exhaust, springs, changed his headlights and tailights, as well as the lights on his gauges and dash and also put in a new grill. He also put in an alarm.
Thank you for your suggestion. I'm sorry to say this but I don't know much about cars and where I would go to purchase the parts, I'm just trying to learn so I can get him a nice gift. So for example, how would I go about getting a deck and do you have any suggestions of what kind to get..
^^i would suggest finding a local car shop (maybe the one he goes too), and asking a bunch of questions out there. If they are good people they will help you out, and if they arnent maybe they will try to rip you off. Id say go there, ask alot of questions, and they come back here a post up what they said before buying. That way we can help to make sure they arent trying to rip you off.
My SL65 rim, because a rim is all I can afford

A deck would be nice.... or headunit... or new stereo... what ever you want to call it. I like my Alpine.
Also look at his car to see if he has both the lower and upper grill. Ther's the one where the H was and one for the hole in the front bumper. He may only have one, and to find the matching other would be cool

Get him window tints. Or if you want to go with the audio approach, a new headunit would be great as well.
I would suggest Alpine or Pioneer brand. Like Big Baller said, ask around at a local car shop.

Thank you so much for all of your great suggestions. I greatly appreciate them. Judging from the amount of responses I recieved suggesting to get a new deck I think I will do that. I have researched alpine and pioneer so far and alpine only had one model that I saw. If any of you have specific models that you know work well and fit well and look good in a civic than it would be great if you could share that info. Thank you once again.

here are some more sites you can browse for HU's.
www.thezeb.com
www.onlinecarstereo.com
www.ikesound.com
www.woofersetc.com
www.sounddomain.com
also, if you find one you like, a local car audio shop should be able to get it for you. It might, however cost a little more going through a shop than an inetrnet distributer. you might also want to check ebay, once you pick a HU.

very reliable, prices are good, they don't have crazy expensive alpine head units, but if you just look under alpine, and find your price range, that's the one to get! ^_^
and for that much $$, cd/mp3 head unit isn't a problem, he'll be very happy with it.

if he wants to do it later one, he can, and it'll be easier cause he'll just have to relocated the current deck to another place, and get an indash dvd player.
good luck with everything
Thanks for giving some advice on the DVD factor. I trust you if you say at a later date he can add the DVD and get a screen. If I get him one with the DVD and no screen then I guess it isn't worth it. Thanks so much again. You have all made this process a whole lot easier!
