Man I got a bad paint job....

Ok here is my story... Around December some a$$hole screatch my car... Picture below...

I bring it to GM and they fixed it... but now, I see some kind of a HAZE or some kind near above my door handle.. first I through it is just oil or dirt.. I try to buff it I try to clean it, it didn't help! Look at the photo below...

And my Trim also pealing Clear Coat...

Just wondering, how can they fix this mass now?? Repaint the hold door? My screatch is at the fander of my front wheel anyway.. I don't know what they are doing on the door... may be trying to blend it in???

By the way, the oily spots look like it is under the clear coat! Did they put their dirty hand on the door when they painted or somethings??? How can they fix it?

When you say Reshot? do you mean they have to repaint the color or just respay the clear coat?? Man this car is silver... and I don't wanted them to screw up my color..

I did return my car last week, when I saw the pealing on my Trim... The guy ask me to bring my car back after winter.. I am in Canada.. it is like -18 C up here.. so he tell me to bring it back in spring....

But I never show him that OILY spots! I just notices it today!

Make them reshoot the paint and the clearcoat. If it is a good paint shop then they should be able to match the paint nearly perfectly. When my car was vandalized, the paint shop painted my entire drivers side rear quarter panel, blended over the top and drivers side door, paint my taillights, door handles, and mirrors. And no one has been able to notice a color change on my car.

I also have a silver car.

Also I would be hesitant to wait for a long period before taking it back to them without having that agreement in writing. It wouldn't be hard for them to say that in the months since they painted your car, that you did something to the paint that is not of any fault of the original paint job they did. I know of small time shops that have done this to keep from having to redo the work.

Well.. I bring it back this morning.. the manger asked me when I notices it... I say I notice for at less a week or so.. First I through it is just durt.. . It is Canada, you drive around with Salt and snow for 2 months.. I have my door done on Mid November, and I gone away to vacation for a hold month on December...

And it is so hard to see, you have to at an angle to see it! He said he have to call up the paint guy to come and have a look... My friend said, it look like they sand the area without cleaner it.. and they spay the clear coat on top! That why you get that HAZE on top...

First, he ask me did we did the door? I say yes.. It is on my bill (estmate).. they were suppost to remove the door handle too.. and the trim.. By the look of my trim that is pealing off right now.. I don't think they did! They just mask it!

He took down my name and my phone number and said he will call me back when the paint guy come by!

This is GM Canada, they have the own body shop. What the hell when they mean I have to wait till the Paint guy come by? Don't they have the paint guy in shop?? They only call him over when there is a job to be done??? I going to give GM sh*t if they don't call me back within a week or two!

some dealerships have "freelance" workers that regularly do stuff for them. A kid in my classes worked with his dad during school breaks going from dealership to dealership fixing dents on the cars that a brought in. They just set up a tent in the back lot and just do their work there, if there's no space in the garage.

The dealership I go to doesn't have a paint shop either, so they probaby send their cars out to specific shops.

I feel for you bro; my car got messed up too in December. Gonna get my passenger door repainted (probably that "blended to the rest of the car" bullshit as well)

My bumper and driversside door got messed up in my accidents years ago, and I can notice the difference in shades of the repair paint compared to the original paint. I noticed it when the car was still in the shop but I didn't want to complain because I just wanted to have my car back

I would hold the paint shot responsiable for the whole mess, and make sure they dont just mask everything make sure, they paint it correctly.
