I give up!
I thought civic's were supposed to be cheap cars that you can fix up to be real fast for a cheap price. I've spent over 700 dollars on my civic and I still don't see the light. I feel like all I did was make my car louder. A waste of my money. I'm not going to modify my car any more. In fact I'm selling my cai, headers, hi-flow cat, and cat-back; and putting back on my stock exhaust. It doesnt seem worth it. I cant beat a cavalier. A CAVALIER!!! its a 2.2. I think I'm going to sell my car in a few years and get a gtp or to hell with it all, I'll just get a pick up truck.
HP = money or great engineering!!! As for hooking up civics cheap, it is, for the older models where everything is out and you can get parts galore. As for us, we can't even do a cheap b16 swap without major mods. Don't give up, but if you want that pickup go for it.

moving to members rides.
Nobody ever said that adding a few bolt on's would make your car faster....You need to do some serious engine work to get any HP out of the d17 block, or you can do an engine swap, or a turbo.

contrary to popular belief: Civic does not equal the fastest car in the world.
well...you can go "fast" on turns with the right suspension mods with relatively cheap suspension mods...just ask zzyzx, boilermaker, or robbclark...but you obviously see "fast" as just racing in a straight line...

Fast as in how? as SLeePeRCIVICHopeful pointed out there is more then just acceleration.
"You dont need a lot of HP to win if you dont have to slow down in the corners"
its called Momentum racing or Speed mantinance. The Idea is if you dont have to slow down as much as the next guy for the corners, then you will not need to accelerate as much down the straights to beat him to then next corner. Its the difference between somthing thats a Point and shoot car like a Mustang and something thats all Finess like a miata.
