i think it depends on your style.. some would say 15s or 16s look the best. u should go with the look of your car, or the look you want your car to have. what kind of look/style are you going for? i.e crazy bodywork look? simple clean look? JDM?

Click on my ride......
I have two sets of rims in there. My old 18's that looked sick but gave me nothing but hell (I live in NYC), and my current 15" Rota Slips that I love too and have given me no probs. Acceleration is night and day when comparing the two sizes.
If you live where the roads are nice, you don't car if the care gets even slower, you wanna keep buying tires cause you keep getting flats, get the 18's, they do look hot but are a pain in the ***.
I have had 18's and 15's....my next and final set of rims will def be 16's.

are 18's really that much of a hassle? i really dont have money to go through tires like that. if such is the case then i may just go with 17's. i want my car to look good but i dont wana burn a hole in my pocket ... ya know?
my sis has 19's on her vw beetle and though she hasnt had any problems yet, she has the money separate if one of em blows

I have 18" Enkei RP07 with H&R Sport springs. I would like to be a bit lower for looks but the H&R sports are perfect for my driving conditions where I live.

sweet ride nitehawk. the black projectors on the black paint looks mean! grr!
question... some people tell me that getting new springs without new shocks is bad. have you had any issues with it?
.. im poverty stricken and im trying not to go overboard on spending money. just wanna look good :-p
also.... depending on the kind of specials i can find, i may end up with 17" rims most likely from wheelmax.com just cuz they have nice deals.
thanx everyone who posted helpful 411 so far :-D

Thanks Lvl7Civic!
I have heard the same thing but I think if you dont go with a severe drop than it doesnt put so much stress on the shocks. Thats another reason I went with the H&R sports. I wanted to eliminate the nasty gap in the fender well without spending too much $$ and overdoing it and making the car unpractical for everyday driving. So far I havent had any problems with my shocks. (knock on wood)
