Hey guys you know how it goes. Sorry but I just feel like telling the story anyway.
Ok so today I go to work 2 hours early to put in more hours (I want more flex money before Spring semester starts). I get to the mall at 2pm and finally get a nice parking space at 2:30pm, near the entrance to the mall. And this was after getting the spaces I was waiting for stolen 5 times!
The facts:
I'm a college student who commutes his economy car to school.
I don't brag my ride, or make it out to be something it's not.
I don't talk **** about any other people's cars, nor do I damage other people's property.
Being a minority, people have always looked at me different but I always respect everyone from the beginning (always; unless they do something to make me not like them).
I am hard working and have been since I started in volunteering when I was 14.
I don't understand why I deserved to have my car keyed. I work at Old Navy; retail for God's sake! Isn't it bad enough that I have to clean up after people who don't know how to put things back where they got it? And I go about my work without any complaints, without giving the customers bad looks; just smiling all the while.
In the beginning of the month I wrote a similar thread where a cinnamon bun was left atop my car's hood. Now I have decided to drive the family beater; '90 Corolla. I don't see why I have to be forced to hide my car now. It's not like I didn't work for my car. I don't understand why I deserved it. If only they knew what I had to go through for that car.
POLL
Please let me know whether I should get it fixed or not. I got my paycheck tonight, and I racked up $560 in 53 hours, not to mention close to a grand in gifts. It should only cost $200 for repairs at most.
the way I see it: If I get it fixed, the car will just get scratched again. If I don't people will see that it has been victimized, BUT some people will also think that I deserved it for whatever reason.
Pics up in the morning. Thanks for reading.

^^^ agreed. and another thing. your car looks good, which can make other jealous. that = damaged car. drive the beater to work i say, drive it to work. imo, if i had worked at a mall, and had the option to drive another car to work... i would.
reason a.) people are dumb and don't know how to park. that's why i take up two spaces, when there like 5 or 6 next to me. or i just park far as ****, next to an expensive car.
reason b) people do not know how to respect space. the park too fu cking close to your car! making it easy to bang your **** up.
i don't care how much money you have, you can take it to the shop and still things can go wrong. just my opinion. you asked and i am giving to you. i respect your ride and i think you should too by driving the family beater more often.

Sorry to hear about your car getting vandalized. I say get her fixed and drive the beater.
People vandalize either because they're pissed at you or because they're jealous of your car. That's life. It's sad but not much you can do about it. There's always gonna be people without respect for your ride. Whether it's a keying, door dings or some dumbf*ck leaning on your car when you're not around.
Oh yeah, and that comment about taking up multiple parking spaces...you're just ASKING for someone to key your car. People hate that. Park farther away if you don't want the car touched. You actually draw attention and hating on your car when you do that.

Only take up two spaces when you park WAY at the end of the parking lot. Noone wants those spaces anyway (Except X-Mas time).
As far as fixing up the scratch... I would. It would drive me nuts to have my car (that I take pride in) all frucked up.

man i read these threads and man im so lucky my car hasnt gotten keyed or broken into. man i got like 10 grand into my civic and i always get props on my ride at a stop light or whatever people yell at me sayin thats a nice car kid. i truly feel lucky. god i hope it dont happen to me. ill be so angry. i say get your car fixed.
That is just totally f*cked up (Pics speak for itself)... I would definitely get it fixed. Just be happy that the scratch is only on the door itself and didn't extend towards the rear. Just get it fixed and use your beater... And yes, check out the mall security cameras.
Good luck, man! BTW, nice ride!

That almost looks like it could have been caused by a zipper or something on someones jacket. I some some lady try to get into her car after some huge truck parked next to her (parking next to an expensive car only works if the expensive car stay longer than you..if not it can be replaced with a shiet mobile) anyway she had to squeeze in between her car and the truck and she left this huge scratch in her car from her zipper. I felt bad for her. I'm not saying that it makes it OK for your car to be scratched...just that maybe it was an accident and not someone funking with your car on purpose.
All in all I say get it fixed

get it fixed, it pisses you off when something like this happens. i had mine a week when someone backed into it, and cracked my bumper at work. (in gov't parking lot). i was mad as hell about it. luckily i had a kit on the way, and nothing but the bumper was damaged. but still, i don't understand why some people do things they do. you work hard, and save your money, and someone fvcks it up. it kinda makes you wonder why you buy a new car.
Set a fund aside and let it grow for a while. Buy a body kit and get the scratch fixed while getting the body kit painted. I have all kinds of stuff like that. I anoys the **** out of me, but I dont have the time or money to fix it. I'll let it go like that for a little while, and after I finish college, I'll have some money set aside and get my baby painted like she should be.
btw, all of my war scars are from parking in a college parking lot.
