i am sorry but most of that is crap. Most people don't have the time to wash their car every 2 weeks, especially in the winter. It should be washed regularly, maybe once a month or so. Waxed at least 2 times a year. You don't need to replace your spark plugs at 20k and you definitely don't need to replace your pads at 20k either. You are making people spend more money than they have to. It is also not necessary to change your oil every 3k. You can at least go every 4-5k unless you are racing often.
most people should be educated on when to perform maintence and not given it in a book or by someone else. If you drive hard, then yes you will need to change your oil more often than someone who doesn't. you will also need to change alot of things earlier too, but for someone who just uses their car to get to work and back, those intervals are crap. Intervals were just made so uneducated people would remember to change stuff.

i know your intentions were good, but you shouldn't suggest people waste their money on parts they don't need. there are a lot of uneducated people on this site that listen to seasoned members. Though you might not provide the best advice all the time, you want to make sure they don't fvck up their car or spend more money they might not have.

I don't want to sound like I am belittling you because I am not. You are a seasoned member here and you know alot about this car so people look up to you. You give them advice and they will usually listen. I have the feeling that people should learn to help themselves not be told what to do. Sure they will be fine if they follow the schedule in the book, but they also might be wasting money they don't have to be. It is all about cost/benefit, and I just found your schedule was more cost than benefit. I mean you could change your oil ever 500 miles, but is it worth it? Is it worth it to change your brake pads if they still work fine and have 2 years worth of braking on them? I know you know your ****, and that is why i respect your opinion and so do other people. but that is your car, not someone who drives 10 miles to work at 25mph.
