'99 Civic EX

I just bought a '99 Civic not too long ago and I am looking to make a few modifications. Just wanted to post on here and see what steps people think I should take for a performance based car, I'm not all too concerned with visuals.

'99 = NOT A 7th GEN!!!

lol, j/k

I'd start with the basics..bolt-ons...I/H/E (Intake/Header/Exhaust)

Then go from there, that should keep you busy for a while. lol

I dont even have a civic anymore....lol.....

As for the 99 civic, you gotta list what you are looking for, Are you looking for speed and performance, or are you looking for looks and maybe sound.

After you figure out what you are looking for you should do some research on the internet and see what parts would be best for you.

If you want to do just bolt on's for parts I would suggest, a good stainless catback exhaust(around $600 without install), a Header(4-2-1)($400-$500 without install), a AEM CAI with Bypass ($175 to $225 w/o install)...From there you can do Pulleys, cam gear....and then do the suspension....with some coilovers, or some softer springs and performance struts. I would also recommend getting some aftermarket tires, and rims...preferrably 17's or 18's

If I had one, I wouldn't mod the outside much. It looks really clean already. Just save up for the turbo, although the 6th gens are much better with boltons. I raced my friend's 99 with intake, exhaust, header, and pullies. He was much faster than the 7th gen.

I'm really just looking for performance...I really like the way the car looks on the outside, maybe lowering it would be the only asthetic thing I'd do. I've already been checking into an AEM CAI for my first project, so I guess I would like to know what other things I should add to see my HP raise?

really? I think it all depends on the driver...the 99 EX and 01 EX are closely matched
on performance; however at the track I am consistantly faster than a 88 ex with boltons
by about 3/10ths NA

Hmmmm....did ya MISS THE lol, J/K part ?

Geez, I know there are a LOT of people here that either don't have 7thgens, don't drive them, are vendors, etc. I wasn't flaming him for being here and not owning one, I just think it's ironic that he asked for help on a 6thgen on a 7thgen site...it was a numbers thing...that's all.
