car is being targeted!

Okay everyone,

Here at my apartment I've been noticing alot of people looking at and in my car at night. I don't know if I'm in a bad neighborhood or not, but there are cadillacs all over with rims and systems. I feel like I'm in the ghetto and my car will be broken into soon. What would you suggest other than an alarm? I don't want my system stolen.

Get a car cover and a hotel door alarm. The hotel door alarm is easily available at luggage and gift shops... Get the one where the alarm goes off if the pin is pulled. These are VERY LOUD with a different, piercing sound thatn your car alarm. Find someplace on the underside of one of the bumpers and attach the alarm there where it is easily accessible. Attach a light cord to the underside of the car cover near where the alarm would be. Attach it permanently to the cover, and a hook to the other end. Then, when you cover your car with the cover, attach the hook to the alarm. If the cover gets pulled, that alarm will go off, and you now have a pre-warning before they are actually in your car, then if you have a real car alarm, you will have a second warning if they get it... just a thought...

A member here gave me some good info on what to do via PM. Thanks again. I'm really worried now cause I see people pull up next to my car and just sit there for a while. Then they leave after 5 mins. Very strange. I need to do a few more things.

Does anyone know if I can connect a second siren using the same cables going to the first one? I wanted to have a second one hidden in case they cut wires to the first.

I noticed in the pics you have underbody neons. Just keep them on. They will prolly bring enough attention to your car that no one will mess with it.

That and an alarm.

Buy a bear trap...hide it under a blanket in your car.

They get inside your car, and WHAP...they've got one mother of an explanation to the cops...especially if you tie it to your vehicle.

Robb, I dont think that would work unless he was physically in the car.

So that would be a big negative.

I need to get me a bear trap lol. But I think I'll get that backup siren. I have a backup battery if they disconnect the big one, but then they could just cut the siren wires. So I need another separate siren. I want to keep the siren going so they get discouraged and go away. The trunk now takes me at least 2 mins to open with keys, so they won't spend that much time when the siren is going.

But if they cut the battery cables wouldn't they be unable to start the car?

Oh wait you said they're just going to steal your system, not your car. My bad.

Make sure whatever sirens you get are remote shut off. Too bad there are other innocent people around... otherwise I would say get alarms loud enough to cause permament ear damage to anyone who sets them off. Then you could shut them off remotely before you have to get near your car.

Set up a device to lock them in the car and fill it with knockout gas. Hehe.

Electrify your system so when they try to remove it. ZZAAPP! Just make sure you remember to turn off the electic system before YOU touch it.

Or, sit on the roof with a gun, and when they try to break into your car, shoot out their tires. Then they'd have a system that they'd have to carry away on foot.

That's funny. But I've heard that there's an independent alarm that you actually have to use a key to turn off once it's triggered. It's linked to the main system, though.

You should have a stake out from the outside not in your home not enough time to run after him. F alarms he'll have a chance to run and get away. Get a camera and have the police ready to move in when they come.

Attach a sticker to the driver side window that says
"This car protected by Glock"

Or find some big huge street thug, a friend of yours if you know somebody like that, who's huge and looks really threatening. Have him wait at your house and when you see somebody checking out your car, walk out together, have him get in the driver seat and you in the passenger, and as you're getting in have him look at whoever's checking out your car and, well, just think of something Mr. T would say - you get the idea. Then drive off, like it's his car. I think a lot of people would be scared to rip off a guy who could turn them inside out. I know I sure am ...

Don't bump your system when your within your neighborhood. I turn all my shi*t off when I'm a mile within my place, I pull off the faceplate and have tinted windows....

That keeps people from knowing you have a system. Then if people are still interested in my car I have an alarm set as sensitive as possible, no proximity that pisses the neighbors off...

If you can call the police with a plate number so if you are broken into you have a place to start investigating....Wireless camera are a good option if you got money to burn. You can set it up for motion detection, anytime someone comes into view the camera activates and begin recording...make sure you can get a good shot of car types or faces with it and you are all set.

If people really want your system they will get it. All you can do is take necessary precautions and hope for the better. Everything else is for when it happens. You can nab the *****(s) and hopefully get your system back in full.

Guns and bear traps while an entertaining idea because I like screaming of aggony from bad people and carnage you then open yourself up to legal issues. Especially if he dies...believe it or not juries out there will convict you of murder attempted murder etc. for protecting your own investments and punishing severly the people who pose a danger to them.
